bit.ly/southern400 Similar to the Southern Appalachian Loop Trail (SALT - see below links), but this is 50 miles longer and allows hikers to complete the Bartram, Foothills and Art Loeb Trails where the SALT only uses portions of each. This has probably already been done, but I couldn't find any info so I named it the Southern 400. Distance ~403 miles as mapped Elevation Range 1,071' (around MM 372) to 6,170' (Black Balsam Knob on the Art Loeb Trail) Elevation Gain & Loss 75,000 ish feet Reservation are required for campsites in GSMNP.
